We keep the information we collect about developers and end users to a minimum. All traffic to our API (api.searchstack.dev) and the web console is encrypted with TLS, so credentials, API keys and search payloads are never sent in the clear. We do not show advertising and we do not share individual user data with third parties except when required by law. The only third-party service used on this site is Google Analytics, which we use to understand how the documentation is consumed.

What information do we collect?

The account details you provide during registration (such as email and account name) and the content you upload to your Lists. We also retain operational logs (request IDs, status codes, timing) so we can debug issues you report, and the search queries run against your Lists so we can produce the analytics in your account (such as top searches and click-through rates).

Data available to connected agents and integrations

SearchStack can be connected to AI agents and other tools through our API and agent connectors (such as the Model Context Protocol). A connected client can access the account data you grant it — your Lists, records, and configuration — to run searches and manage your data on your behalf. It never receives your model or feed provider credentials, and never another account's data. A few actions return secret material once, at the moment you create it — a newly minted API key, or a webhook signing secret — so that you can store it. Treat those responses as confidential and do not expose them to untrusted parties.

Right to request deletion

You may request deletion of your data, subject to a few exceptions. These exceptions include cases where we must retain data to meet legal obligations, detect fraud, investigate abuse or other violations of our Terms of Service, or address security issues. After we receive a verified request, we will delete your personal information and associated Lists unless an exception applies.
